fjällräven: More than 50 years serving nature

‘At Fjӓllrӓven one of our 3 founding principles is to encourage more people to get outside and enjoy nature. The #walk1000miles campaign ties in perfectly with this objective, providing a supportive environment for walkers and helping more of us realise the physical and mental benefits of clocking up the miles. We’re delighted to be part of it for 2018.’

In 1960, Åke Nordin founded Fjӓllrӓven in his basement in the Swedish town of Örnsköldsvik. From its very first innovative framed backpacks and lightweight outdoor jackets, Fjӓllrӓven has stayed true to its original mission of making it easier for more people to enjoy and stay comfortable in the great outdoors.  Backed by its impressive heritage, the company has continued to grow and develop and its clothing and equipment is now popular with outdoor enthusiasts all around the world.

Every Fjӓllrӓven product is characterised by their functional, durable and timeless designs and the company is best known for its durable and adaptable G-1000® fabric. A hardwearing blend of polyester and cotton, the fabric is incredibly practical for life outdoors and can be adapted by the wearer to suit varying weather conditions using Fjӓllrӓven’s natural Greenland Wax.

Passionate about protecting the environment that inspires it, Fjӓllrӓven is always looking for new ways to reduce its environmental impact; from its innovative, PFC-free Eco-Shell fabric to its highly ethical and fully traceable Down-sourcing programme.

Fjӓllrӓven is well known for its durable and adaptable G-1000 fabric that features on its trousers, jackets and even backpacks but if you’ve ever wondered how to go about waxing it, check out their handy new video guide. Who said ironing isn’t fun!
