Walk the walk: UK's largest grant making breast cancer charity

Grant-making breast cancer charity Walk the Walk are the organisers of the famous MoonWalks held every year in London, Scotland and Iceland. Wearing the charity’s trademark brightly decorated bras, thousands of women and men take on these fun challenges at midnight, power walking marathon distances to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Over the last 21 years, Walk the Walk has raised an incredible £121 million, which is granted to help fund research into breast cancer and to help improve the lives of those with cancer now. Joining a Walk the Walk event is often described as life-changing. Many people who have never power walked or been involved in any sort of exercise become ardent walkers, becoming more aware of their own potential for healing and maintaining good health and wellbeing.

‘As we enter the second year of our partnership with #walk1000miles, I am so utterly delighted that together, we are set on turning the UK into a nation of walkers. The wonderful synergy between the MoonWalks and #walk1000miles makes a winning combination of the exciting buzz that surrounds signing up for #walk1000miles and that fantastic sense of achievement you feel crossing the MoonWalk finishing line …Oh if only we could bottle it, what a year it would be!’
