It was a long-held ambition to walk Scotland’s 96-mile West Highland Way – and 1000-mile challenger Karen Hall didn’t just do it, she smashed it!

‘Last week I completed one of my bucket list walks, the West Highland Way’ writes Karen in the challenge Facebook group. ‘96 miles, 6 days solo hiking and wild camping, carrying all my kit – 16kg’s-worth.

‘It was an utterly amazing experience, incredibly tough for me at times, but kept putting one foot in front of the other (however slowly!) and made it. I think it's still sinking in, the whole thing, and thanks to the generosity of lots of lovely people also raised £2k (and counting!) for charity.

‘The landscape is amazing, midges not so much! Definitely somewhere I'll go back to, and would 100% do the trail again, but maybe not carrying that weight!’
