At 89 Tony Stallard was set to slow down but now he’s crushed his 1000 miles he’s on to an even greater target.
‘I completed my 1,000 miles on 10th June 2024 at the age of 89. I love playing golf three times a week but I was tempted to give up walking round the golf course and use a buggy instead. My grand daughter showed me Country Walking magazine and everyone’s stories inspired me to keep walking. On days when I don’t play golf I’ve started walking round the local park. I also love going for an amble with my family every evening and chatting about the day’s events. I am now hoping to reach 2,000 miles before the end of the year. Thank you for the inspiration, and, everyone: it doesn’t matter how far you walk, just do your best!’.
